  • Page 12 Cutting Process The air plasma cutting process uses air or nitrogen as primary cutting gas and as torch cooling gas. The pilot arc is struck as follow: the torch button energize an electrovalve (solenoid valve). This valve lets the gas flow during the cutting and the post-flow stages.
