Checking the brake discs

Change the worn brake disc(s) without delay. (Your authorized KTM workshop will be pleased to help.)
Checking free travel of hand brake lever

Danger of accidents Brake system failure.

If there is no free travel on the hand brake lever, pressure builds up on the front brake in the brake system. The front brake
can fail due to overheating. Adjust free travel on hand brake lever according to specifications.

Fill bleeding syringe
Bleed syringe (50329050000)
Brake fluid DOT 4 / DOT 5.1 (

On the slave cylinder, remove bleeder screw

Inject the liquid into the system until it escapes from bore hole
cylinder without bubbles.
–
To prevent overflow, drain fluid occasionally from the master cylinder reservoir.
–
Remove the bleeding syringe. Mount and tighten the bleeder screw.
–
Correct the fluid level of the hydraulic clutch.

Position the cover with the membrane. Mount and tighten the screws.

Clean up overflowed or spilt fluid immediately with water.

Check the thickness of the front and rear brake discs at several places on the disc
to see if it conforms to measurement

Wear reduces the thickness of the brake disc around the area used by the
brake linings.

Change the brake disc.

Check the front and rear brake discs for damage, cracking and deformation.
