Preventing Paper Jams

Check the following if paper jams occur frequently.
❏ Place the printer on a flat surface and operate in the recommended environmental conditions.

❏ Use the paper supported by this printer.
"Available Paper and Capacities" on page 182
❏ Follow paper handling precautions.
"Paper Handling Precautions" on page 26
❏ Load paper in the correct direction, and slide the edge guide against the edge of the paper.
"Loading Paper" on page 26
❏ Do not load more than the maximum number of sheets specified for paper.
❏ Load one sheet of paper at a time if you have loaded several sheets of paper.
❏ Make sure the paper size and paper type settings match the actual paper size and paper type loaded in the
printer.

❏ Insert the front paper feeder completely while you are not using it. If it is not inserted completely, paper may get
jammed when the printer feeds paper from the rear paper feeder.

Ink Cartridge Handling Precautions

Storing precautions for ink
❏ Epson recommends storing ink cartridges in a cool and dark place.
❏ For best results, Epson recommends using up ink cartridges before the best before date printed on the package,
or within six months of opening the package, whichever is earlier.
❏ After bringing an ink cartridge inside from a cold storage site, allow it to warm up at room temperature for at
least three hours before using it.
❏ Do not open an ink cartridge package until you are ready to install the ink cartridge in the product.
