HOW THE AIR PURIFIER WORKS

Dirty, dust laden air is drawn through the rear of the air purifier and through the multi-stage filtration system.

  1. The washable foam pre-filter captures larger particles and extends the HEPA-type filter's replacement cycle.
  2. The HEPA-type filter entraps 99% of all smaller visible and non-visible particles down to 2 microns in size.
  3. The independent ioniser naturally improves performance and freshens the air.

PRODUCT FEATURES

High, Medium and Low settings
For optimum air filtration, operate your air purifier continuously on the Medium (2) setting. Its rugged motor has been designed to give many years of use. For quieter operation (such as in a bedroom), select the Low (1) setting. When high levels of air pollution are present, select the High (3) setting.

Filter Service Indicator
The filter service indicator light (L) eliminates guesswork by letting you know when it is time to replace the HEPA-type filter. The light is green when the filter is fully clean, yellow when the filter is nearing replacement, and red when the filter needs to be replaced. After the filter is replaced, reset by pressing down 3 seconds on the filter reset button (I). Note that the green and red lights will blink three times when the unit is turned on, and the green light will blink three times after being reset.

Timer
The timer allows you to run the air purifier at your convenience for 2, 4 or 8 hours, and automatically turns the power off when time is up.

Ioniser
This appliance has an independent ioniser feature which, when turned on, releases negative ions into outgoing filtered air to help the air purification process.

What Are Ions?
Ions are tiny particles that carry a positive or negative charge. They exist naturally around us: in the air, water, and ground. Both positive and negative ions are colourless, odourless, and completely harmless.

How Does The Ioniser Work?
Negative ions help air purification by attaching themselves to very small airborne particles in the room. These particles take on a negative charge and may join with positively charged particles such as dust, pollen, smoke, and pet dander to form larger particles. The larger particles are then more easily captured by the filter system.

Your ioniser may produce an occasional popping or cracking sound. This is normal and occurs when a small buildup of ions is discharged.
After extended use, you may notice dust around the grills or front panel.

  • This is caused by negative ions exiting the air outlet, evidence of the ioniser's air cleaning effectiveness.
  • You can remove the dust with a soft brush or clean, damp cloth.

Larger particles may be attracted to positively charged surfaces throughout the home, like walls or floors.

  • This may occur more frequently when the filter is nearing the end of its useful product life and unable to capture as many charged particles.
  • Excessive amounts of pet dander, dust, or smoke may decrease the life expectancy of the filter(s) and interfere with the ionisation process.

To help prevent particles from attracting to surfaces throughout your home:

  • You may want to run the ioniser less often.
  • Check the condition of the filter(s) more frequently.

The ioniser in this appliance produces less ozone than the UL* established limits of 50ppb. However, in high concentrations, ozone can be harmful to birds and small pets. To prevent ozone buildup, we suggest using the ioniser in well ventilated areas with the fan on.
NOTE: it is important to change the HEPA-type filter at recommended intervals. Using the ioniser in conjunction with dirty filters may result in dirty particles exiting the air purifier and being attracted to walls, carpets, furniture and other household objects. These dirty particles may prove very difficult to remove.

PRE-OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Carefully unpack your air purifier.
  2. Select a firm level place where there are no obstructions to the air inlet (rear grill) or filtered air outlet.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Plug into a 220-240V electrical outlet.
  2. Press the Power button ().
  3. You can then press the Speed button () for the desired speed setting: HIGH (3), MEDIUM (2), or LOW (1).
  4. To release negative ions into the filtered air, press the Ioniser button () and the light will illuminate.
  5. You may set the timer so that it automatically turns off when the desired time has elapsed. Press the Timer button () until you reach the desired number of hours you want the unit to operate (2, 4 or 8). The number of hours will light up and remain illuminated. When the time has expired, the air purifier will turn off. To cancel the timer, press the Timer button () one more time. You may also cancel the timer operation by turning the Power button off.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

  1. Turn the air purifier off and unplug it before cleaning.
  2. The outside of the air purifier can be cleaned with a soft, clean dampened cloth.
  3. The filtered air outlet on the back of the unit can be cleaned of dust with a small, soft brush.
  4. If you wish to clean the inside of the air purifier, please only use a dry, soft cloth to wipe it down.

FILTER REPLACEMENT

IN ORDER TO RETAIN THE EFFICIENCY OF YOUR AIR PURIFIER, THE HEPA -TYPE FILTERS NEED TO BE CHANGED EVERY 3-6 MONTHS. THE FILTER SERVICE INDICATOR LIGHT (L) WILL TURN RED WHEN IT IS TIME TO REPLACE THE HEPA -TYPE FILTERS.

  1. Every few weeks check the condition of the pre-filter.
  2. Remove the inlet grill by pressing down on the knob at the top. If the foam pre-filter has collected a noticeable amount of dust, remove it from the inlet of the grill and wash it in warm soapy water. Rinse and dry the pre-filter thoroughly before replacing it in the inlet of the grill.
  3. With the inlet grill removed, remove the HEPA-type filters and dispose in the dust bin. DO NOT try to wash and re-use the filters. Replace with two new HEPA-type filters or True HEPA filters against smoke, removing the protective plastic bag before inserting into the air purifier.
  4. Align the clips on the side of your filter with the rails on the inside of the unit. Gently slide the filter onto the rails.
  5. The filter clip should easily slide onto the filter hang tabs. Do not use force while attaching the filter clip to the filter. Align the clip on the side of your filter with the rails on the inside of the unit.
NOTE: The pleated material and rubber gasket should be facing towards the unit when applied.
  6. Replace the inlet grill by positioning bottom of grill and then snapping back on to the unit. Make sure that it fi ts securely into position (the grill only goes on one way)
NOTE: Do not point outlet towards wall.
  7. The filter service indicator light should be reset once the filters have been replaced. Reset by pressing down 3 seconds on the filter reset button (I).
