NOTE: Handbrake eff ectiveness, which is how quickly the squeezing of the handbrake lever will bring your
vehicle to a stop, can be modifi ed by tightening or loosening the setscrew located on the handbrake lever. See
fi gure 2.
WARNING! The handbrake is intended for use as a supplemental braking system to the throttle
controlled regenerative braking system, or to help bring the vehicle to a stop in the event that
the regenerative braking system does not engage. The handbrake is not intended for use as the
primary braking system. Misuse or improper use of the handbrake may result in a crash, a fall,
personal/property injury, or death.
NOTE: For more information on the handbrake lever refer to the Consumer Safety Guide that was supplied
with your vehicle.
High-Low Button
This switch toggles the vehicle's speed between Hi and Low. Toggle the switch forward (Hi) to achieve the
maximum preprogrammed speed for the vehicles. Toggle the switch rearward (Low) to achieve half the maximum
preprogrammed speed of the vehicle.
Lights Switch
This switch controls your vehicle's lighting system, including the 4-way yellow fl ashers on your vehicle.
 Toggle switch forward to activate the headlight.
 Toggle switch rearward to activate hazard lights.
 Return switch to center position to deactivate lights.
WARNING! Vehicle users are required to use their lights when visibility is restricted—day or
night.
REAR COMPONENTS
The manual freewheel lever and motor/transaxle assembly are located on your vehicle as shown. See fi gure 3.
WARNING! Before placing your vehicle into or taking it out of freewheel mode, remove the key
from the key switch. Never sit on a vehicle when it is in freewheel mode. Never put a vehicle in
freewheel mode on any incline.
Motor/Transaxle Assembly
The motor/transaxle assembly is an electromechanical unit that converts electrical energy from your vehicle's
batteries into the controlled mechanical energy that drives the vehicle's wheels.
