The paper is not loaded properly.
The paper-thickness lever is set incorrectly.
Paper is creased, old, too thin, or too thick.
Paper does not eject completely.
Cause
The paper may be too long.
Continuous paper does not feed properly
The tractor does not feed the paper.
Cause
The paper release lever may be in the wrong
position.
Continuous paper is not loaded properly.
The paper-thickness lever is set incorrectly.
The center paper support is not located at the
center of the paper width.
Your paper may be the wrong size or thickness
for the printer.
The paper supply is not aligned with the printer.
The sprocket units are positioned incorrectly for
the width of paper you are using.
See "Loading Single Sheets" on page 39 for instructions on
loading single sheet paper.
Set the paper-thickness lever to match the thickness of your
paper.

See "Paper" on page 114 for information on paper specifications
and use new, clean sheets of paper.
What to do
Press the LF/FF button to eject the page. Use paper that is
within the specified range. See the paper specifications in
"Paper" on page 114.

Set the paper release lever to the continuous paper position.
Insert a new sheet.
See "Loading Continuous Paper" on page 33 for instructions on
loading continuous paper with the tractor you want to use.
Set the paper-thickness lever to match the thickness of your
paper.
See "Adjusting the Paper-thickness lever" on page 31.
Set the center paper support to the center of the paper width.
Make sure that the paper size and thickness are within the
specified ranges. See "Paper" on page 114 for information on
the continuous paper specifications.
Make sure you align your paper supply with the paper loaded in
the tractor so the paper feeds smoothly into the printer. See
"Positioning the continuous paper supply" on page 33.
Adjust the position of the sprockets to remove any slack along
the width of the paper.
