Supplements for the DRIVE-CLiQ encoders for safety applications
The encoder is mounted in compliance with the relevant standards listed in the original
declaration of incorporation for safety-relevant applications. Observe the notes in Chapter
Ensuring functional safety (Page 29). Siemens does not accept any liability for injury or
damage resulting from non-observance of these operating instructions.

The DRIVE‑CLiQ rotary encoder is only safe for use with a suitable encoder evaluation unit
on the SINAMICS‑S120 and the corresponding safety settings and activated motor protection
evaluation. For details, please refer to the SINAMICS S120 documentation .
The DRIVE‑CLiQ rotary encoder is designed for a maximum input speed of 6000 rpm.
The DRIVE‑CLiQ rotary encoder is designed for a maximum angular acceleration of the motor
of 4000 rad/s
The DRIVE‑CLiQ rotary encoders are designed and built according to state-of-the-art
technology and are shipped in an operationally safe condition. Changes made by the
operating company could affect this operational reliability and are forbidden.
The DRIVE‑CLiQ rotary encoder is intended to be mounted on a motor. The company
operating the motor is responsible for complying with functional safety. The entity marketing
or operating the machine is responsible for the necessary safety functions and their
attributes.

intended by SIEMENS. You destroy or damage the DRIVE‑CLiQ rotary encoder.
