LOCATION ANd VENTILATION

The welder should be located to provide an unrestricted flow of
clean, cool air to the cooling air inlets and to avoid restricting the
cooling air outlets. Locate the welder so that the engine exhaust
fumes are properly vented to an outside area.

STACKING

Fleet™ 400 machines cannot be stacked.

ANGLE OF OPERATION

Engines are designed to run in the level condition which is where
the optimum performance is achieved. The maximum angle of
continuous operation is 35° in all directions.
If the engine is to be operated at an angle, provisions must be
made for checking and maintaining the oil level at the normal
(FULL) oil capacity in the crankcase.
When operating the welder at an angle, the effective fuel capacity
will be slightly less than the amount specified.

LIFTING

The Fleet™ 400 weighs approximately 1065 lbs (483Kg) with a
empty fuel tank. A lift bail is mounted to the machine and should
always be used when lifting the machine.
Liftbale max lifting weight = 2585lbs
Do not exceed max lifting weight.

HIGH ALTITUDE OPERATION

The naturally aspirated engine will run correctly up to an altitude
of 600m (2000 ft). If the engine is to operate at an altitude above
this, an increase in smoke may be seen. This is normal for a
naturally aspirated engine.
Contact a Perkins Service Representative for any engine
adjustments that may be required.

HIGH TEMPERATURE OPERATION

Tested for extreme temperature operation up to 55°C. Output
derated above 40°C.
