Starting the Engine
Shift the transmission to Neutral (
c
indicator comes on). Alternatively, pull in the
clutch lever to start your vehicle with the
transmission in gear so long as the side
stand is raised.
Using the start button

Press the start button with the throttle
completely closed. Release the start button
as soon as the engine starts.
U type only
Using the kickstarter
Lightly depress the kickstarter until resistance
is felt. Then let the kickstarter return to the
top of its stroke. With the throttle completely
closed, operate the kickstarter starting from
the top of the stroke, kick through to the
bottom with a rapid, continuous motion.

Open the throttle slightly (about 3 mm
(0.1 in), without freeplay).
