nOTE: Continuous use in variable speed range is not
recommended. It may damage the switch and should
be avoided.
nOTE: The first time the tool is run after changing the
direction of rotation, you may hear a click on start-up. This is
normal and does not indicate a problem.
Lock-On Button (Fig. A)
To lock the switch in the ON position for continuous
operation, depress the trigger switch 
lock-on button

. The tool will continue to run. To turn the
tool off, from a locked on condition, squeeze and release the
trigger once. Before using the tool (each time), be sure that
the locking button release mechanism is working freely.

CAUTION: Be sure to release the locking mechanism
before removing the battery from the tool. Failure to do
so will cause the tool to start immediately the next time
the battery is installed. Damage or injury could result.
Worklight (Fig. A)
The worklight

is activated when the trigger switch 
depressed, and will automatically turn off 20 seconds after
the trigger switch is released. If the trigger switch remains
depressed, the worklight will remain on.
nOTE: The worklight is for lighting the immediate work
surface and is not intended to be used as a flashlight.
Screwdriving (Fig. A)
For best results, hold the screwgun with the hand directly in
line with the fastener and press the variable speed trigger
switch with the last one or two fingers of the hand. This
reduces the chance of the screw slipping from the drive
accessory when pressure is applied.
To drive the fastener, place it on the bit, press the variable
speed trigger switch and push the fastener into the
workpiece with a smooth, continuous motion. When the
fastener is seated, the clutch will disengage automatically.
1. Install bit tip in bit holder.
2. Adjust depth locator 
3. Check for correct rotation, start screwgun and place
screw on bit.
4. Contact work surface, applying forward pressure to drive
screw until depth locator contacts the work surface.
Screwgun will ratchet automatically, disengaging bit
from screw.
5. This depth sensitive screwgun is suitable for driving
drywall screws.

Continuous satisfactory operation depends upon proper tool
care and regular cleaning.
Nose Cone Maintenance (Fig. A)
If the nose cone 
contaminated with drywall dust.
1. Remove nose cone from tool.
2. Rinse thoroughly with warm water while rotating both
screw depth adjustment collar 
Never use oil or solvents.
3. Dry the nose cone completely before reattaching to tool.

Cleaning

WARNING: Blow dirt and dust out of all air vents with
clean, dry air at least once a week. To minimize the risk
of eye injury, always wear ANSI Z87.1 approved eye
protection when performing this procedure.

WARNING: Never use solvents or other harsh
chemicals for cleaning the non‑metallic parts of the
tool. These chemicals may weaken the plastic materials
used in these parts. Use a cloth dampened only with
water and mild soap. Never let any liquid get inside the
tool; never immerse any part of the tool into a liquid.
Accessories

WARNING: Since accessories, other than those
offered by CRAFTSMAN, have not been tested with
this product, use of such accessories with this product
could be hazardous. To reduce the risk of injury, only
CRAFTSMAN recommended accessories should be used
with this product.
Recommended accessories for use with your product are
available at extra cost from your local dealer or authorized
