Tine Clutch Control

WARNING
Read, understand, and follow all instructions and warnings posted on
the machine and in this manual before operating.
Tine Clutch Control
The clutch control lever is located on the upper handle. Squeezing the
lever against the handle engages the tine drive. Release the lever to
stop the tines from turning.
Handlebar Height Adjustment
The handlebar height is adjustable to three different settings. In
general, adjust the handlebars so they are at waist level when the tines
are 3-4" in the ground.
Depth Stake
The depth stake acts as a brake for the tiller and controls the depth
and speed at which the machine will operate.
Starter handle
The starter rope is located on the engine. Pull the recoil starter rope to
start the unit.
Engine Switch
The engine switch is located on the engine. Turn it on when starting
the engine and use it to turn off the engine.
Craftsman Tillers conform to the safety standard of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

The operation of any tiller can result in foreign objects being thrown
into the eyes, which can damage your eyes severely. Always wear
safety glasses during operation or while performing any adjustments
or repairs.
Choke
The choke is located on the engine and when activated, closes the
choke plate on the carburetor and aids in starting the engine.
Rear Wheels with Depth Stake
The rear wheels can be raised and lowered for transport and storage.
Refer to the Maintenance & Adjustments Section for instructions
on depth stake adjustment and the Assembly & Set-Up Section for
instructions on wheel adjustment.
Oil Drain
Removing the oil drain plug will drain the oil from the engine. The
engine is equipped with a side drain, and on select units, you may also
access a bottom drain.
Oil Fill Cap
Remove the oil fill cap to check the oil level and add oil.
Fuel Cap
Remove the fuel cap to add fuel.
