Service Diagnosis

Symptom
Does not dispense
Does not STOP dispensing
Ice fills chute by itself
Probable Cause
No power to dispenser
Ice chute not all the way up.
No ice in hopper
Dispenser On-Off switch is OFF.
Push button switch does not work
Coin switch (coin vending units)
does not work
Coin units: Cam switch #2 open
Card switch (code card units) does
not work
Transformer failed
Safety switch is open
Relay has failed
Motor of gear reducer is open or
stuck
Drive shaft broken
Gear reducer stripped internally
50 Hz models - main transformer
has failed
Vend or cam switch stuck closed
Result of ice agitation
Rotor not timed properly with cam
switch

Possible Correction
Check for power, reconnect if off
Push ice chute up.
Check ice machine, it may be off or
the dispenser's storage capacity
may have been exceeded.
Move switch to ON
Check - replace switch if it will not
close
Check - replace switch if it will not
close
Check position of switch on cam,
check switch contacts.
Check - replace switch if it will not
close
Check - replace if open
Check - replace switch if it will not
close
Check - replace relay if coil or
points are open
Check motor, replace if open
Check drive shaft, replace if broken
Check if motor turns but output
shaft does not. Service or replace
gear reducer
Check, replace transformer if open
Check cam or vend switch
This is normal
Adjust cam switch
Check vend switch
