PROBLEMS
(SYMPTOMS)
Neither sideʼs drive motor turns
although arc voltage is present and
the gas solenoid is on.
No control of wire feed speed on
one side only. Both motors turn.
Both gas solenoids operate proper-
ly and arc voltage is present. Wire
feed speed can be set on the dis-
play, but on one side has no control
of the wire feed speed.
No control of wire feed speed on
both sides. Both motors turn. Both
gas solenoid operate properly and
arc voltage is present. Wire feed
speed can be set on the display,
but both sides have no control of
the wire feed speed.
Wire feed motor turns and gas
solenoid operates, but no arc volt-
age is present.
Speed does not change when weld
current flows.
Voltmeter does not function proper-
ly. Welding may or may not vary
from normal procedure. Wire feeds
properly.
Gas solenoid not operating properly
or intermittent.
If for any reason you do not understand the test procedures or are unable to perform the tests/repairs safely, contact your
Local Lincoln Authorized Field Service Facility for technical troubleshooting assistance before you proceed.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Observe all Safety Guidelines detailed throughout this manual
POSSIBLE
1. Damaged control p.c. board.
1. Damaged leads to the motor
tachometer.
2. Damaged tachometer.
1. Damaged control p.c. board
2. Both tachometers are damaged.
1. Power source is unable to provide
arc voltage because of thermal shut-
down or other failure.
1. Run-in and weld speeds are set
to the same value.
2. Current sensing reed switch is
not operating properly.
3. The wiring from the control p.c.
board to the weld current sens-
ing reed switch is damaged.
4. Damaged control p.c. board.
1. The work sense lead (#21) or the
electrode sense lead (#67) may
have intermittent or poor connec-
tions.
2. Improper power source selection
on the control p.c. board.
3. Control p.c. board failure.
1. Inlet gas pressure exceeding 80
psi(5.5 bar). Verify that gas pres-
sure regulator is operating prop-
erly.
CAUSE
If all recommended possible areas
of misadjustment have been
checked and the problem persists,
Contact your local Lincoln
Authorized Field Service Facility.
