Serverboard Installation

This section explains the first step of physically mounting the H8DGT-HIBQF/HF
into the SC217HQ-R1400BP chassis. The 2122TG-HIBQRF/HTRF is a highly
complicated system. It is recommended that serverboard removal/installation be
done by a Supermicro trained technician. Following the steps in the order given
will eliminate the most common problems encountered in such an installation. To
remove the motherboard, follow the procedure in reverse order.
Installing to the Chassis
1. Remove the serverboard tray from the SC827 Chassis body.
2. Make sure that the I/O ports on the serverboard align properly with their
respective holes in the I/O shield at the back of the chassis.
3. Carefully mount the serverboard to the serverboard tray by aligning the board
holes with the raised metal standoffs that are visible in the chassis.
Caution: Do not slide serverboard into tray as this will damage components on
the bottom of the board.
4. Insert screws into all the mounting holes on your serverboard that line up
with the standoffs and tighten until snug. Metal screws provide an electrical
contact to the motherboard ground to provide a continuous ground for the
system.
Caution: To avoid damaging the motherboard and its components, do not apply
any force greater than 8 inch-lbs. when installing a screw into a mounting hole.
5. Install backplane adapter card into JP3 adapter card connector near the front
of serverboard and attach to tray with included screws.
6. Install PCIE x16 Riser Card into PCIE slot and attach to tray with included
screw.
7. Finish by replacing motherboard tray into chassis.
