∙ Caution: Keep any packaging materials
well away from children – such materials
are a potential source of danger, e.g. of
suffocation.
∙ Before the appliance is used, the main
body as well as any attachments fitted
should be checked thoroughly for any
defects. If the appliance, for instance,
has been dropped onto a hard surface, it
must no longer be used: even invisible
damage may have adverse effects on its
operational safety.
∙ The power cord should be regularly
examined for any signs of damage. In
the event of such damage being found,
the appliance must no longer be used.
∙ Always position the appliance with
sufficient surrounding space. Do not
place it directly by a wall or in a corner,
or near curtains or similar objects. Keep
inflammable objects well away and do
not cover the appliance during use.
∙ Always place the unit on a level, heat-
resistant work surface impervious to
splashes and stains.
∙ To prevent damage to the housing and
the power cord, do not place or operate
the appliance on or near hot surfaces
(e.g. stove plates) or open flames.
∙ Do not leave the appliance unattended
while in use.
∙ Do not insert the plug until the crêpe
plate is in place. Never operate the
device without the crêpe plate.
∙ Never attempt to cut the crêpes on the
crêpe-plate. To prevent damage to the
non-stick coating of the plate, only heat-
resistant plastic or wooden implements
should be used.
12
∙ Always switch off and remove the
plug from the wall socket
- after use,
- in cases of malfunction,
- before you remove the crêpe plate,
- during cleaning.
∙ When removing the plug from the wall
socket, never pull on the power cord;
always grip the plug itself.
∙ Only handle the plug with dry hands.
∙ Do not let the power cord hang free.
∙ Do not allow the power cord to touch
any hot parts of the appliance.
∙ Do not operate or store the appliance
outdoors or in humid environments or
rooms such as a cellar or garage.
∙ No responsibility will be accepted if
damage results from improper use, or if
these instructions are not complied with.
Before using for the first time
∙ Take the appliance and all accessories
from their packaging. Remove and
dispose of all packing materials.
∙ Unwind the power cord completely.
∙ Let the appliance heat up for 6 minutes
at maximum power. During this initial
heating period, a slight smell may be
emitted. For that reason, adequate
