CHECKING THE DIODE

1. Check:
Diode2

Diode3
G
Out of specification → Replace.
Pocket tester
90890-03132
NOTE:
The following lists the specifications if you use
the pocket tester (90890-03132).
Diode2
Continuity
Positive tester probe → Blue/
white "1"
Negative tester probe → Blue/
black "2"
No continuity
Positive tester probe → Blue/
black "2"
Negative tester probe → Blue/
white "1"
Diode3
Continuity
Positive tester probe → Sky blue
"3"
Negative tester probe → Light
green "4"
No continuity
Positive tester probe → Light
green "4"
Negative tester probe → Sky
blue "3"

a. Disconnect the diode from the wire harness.
b. Connect the pocket tester (Ω × 1) to the diode
coupler as shown.
c. Check the diode for continuity.
d. Check the diode for no continuity.

CHECKING THE SPARK PLUG CAP

1. Check:
Spark plug cap resistance
G
Out of specification → Replace.
Resistance
10.0 kΩ
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
a. Remove the spark plug cap from the spark
plug lead.
b. Connect the pocket tester (Ω × 1k) to the
spark plug cap as shown.

c. Measure the spark plug cap resistance.
