Table 2-1 POST Error Messages List
NOTE:
To diagnose a problem, first find the BIOS error messages in left column. If
directed to a check procedure, replace the FRU indicated in the check
procedure. If no check procedure is indicated, the first Action/FRU listed in right
column is the most likely cause.
BIOS Error Messages
Keyboard is locked
Keyboard Error
Keyboard Interface Error
No boot device available
NVRAM/CMOS/Password cleared by
Jumper
<CTRL_N> pressed
CAUTION: There are two warnings with POST messages as below:
1. Checking NVRAM NVRAM is being checked to see if it is valid.
2. Update OK! NVRAM was invalid and has been updated.

Action/FRU
Re-connect PS/2 keyboard and mouse.
Enter BIOS Setup and load the default
settings.
PS/2 keyboard
PS/2 mouse
System board
Re-connect with devices
Make Sure devices (FDD, HDD, CD/DVD-
ROM) are bootable.
Enter BIOS Setup and load the default
settings.
Reboot the system
Turn off the system and remove the
jumper.
See "Power-On Password" on page 9.
CMOS is ignored and NVRAM is cleared.
Enter BIOS Setup and load the default
settings.
