SPEED SELECT CONTROL

On the transmission, move the control arm all the way to the left.
See Figure 6-4.
10. Adjust the cable until there is no slack in the cable between the
control arm and cable sheathing. See Figure 6-4.

11. Hold the cable firmly and tighten the clamp.
12. Reinstall the transmission access cover and secure with the two
bolts.
NO SLACK
13. Test the operation of the speed select control. The machine
should increase and decrease speed as the speed select control
is moved to each position. The machine must be at a complete
stop before shifting between gears.
WARNING
To avoid bodily injury and damage to the
transmission, the machine must be at a full stop
before shifting between gears..
If making the adjustment as outlined does not allow
for proper speed select operation, contact your
local Authorized Scag Power Equipment Dealer.
DRIVE CONTROL BAR CABLE ADJUSTMENT
1.
Shut the engine off and wait for all moving parts to stop.
2.
Disconnect the spark plug wire from the spark plug.
3.
With the drive control bar released, loosen the clamp securing
the speed select cable to the drive control bar. See Figure 6-5.
4.
Adjust the cable until there is a small amount of slack in the
cable between the drive control bar and cable sheathing. See
Figure 6-5.

5.
Hold the cable firmly and tighten the clamp.
6.
Test the operation of the drive control bar. The machine should
not move when the drive control bar is released.
