What might be the cause of...
Defects you can remedy yourself
Before calling GIAS Service for technical advice please run through the following checklist. A
charge will be made if the machine is found to be working or has been installed incorrectly or used incorrectly.
If the problem persists after completing the recommended checks, please call the GIAS Service, they may be
able to assist you over the telephone.
FAULT
1. Does not function on any
program

4. Water on floor around

NOTE: The machine is fitted with a special electronic device, which prevents the spin
cycle should the load be unbalanced. This reduces the noise and vibration in the machine
and so prolongs the life of your machine.
It is unlikely that water will be visible in the drum!
This is due to the latest technology that achieves the same standard of washing
and rinsing but with far less water consumption.

Trouble shooting

CAUSE
Mains plug not plugged in
Mains switch not on
No power
Electric circuit fuses failure

Timer not set correctly

Leak from the washer between the tap
and inlet tube
The washing machine has not discharged
water
"No spin" setting (some models only)
Washing machine not perfectly level
Transport bracket not removed
Washing load not evenly distributed

No water fill.
No pump out.
Machine overfilled with water.
REMEDY
Insert plug
Turn on mains switch
Check
Check
Close load door
Check
Turn on water inlet tap
Set timer on correct position
Straighten discharge tube
Check filter
Replace washer and tighten the
tube on the tap
Wait a few minutes until the ma-
chine discharges water
Turn the program dial onto spin
setting
Adjust special feet
Remove transport bracket
Distribute the washing evenly
Call service.
Check water supplies are on.
Check drain is clear. Check drain
hose is not kinked.
Turn off water supply to machine.
Call service.
