3.4 Front Coolant Pipe, Removing and In‐
stalling
Special tools and workshop equipment required
♦ Wrench - Pin Type - 3212-
♦ Hose Clip Pliers - VAS6362-
Removing
– Drain the coolant. Refer to
ing", page 184 .
– Remove the front left coolant pipes. Refer to
Coolant Pipes, Removing and Installing", page 201
– Remove the ribbed belt. Refer to
ing and Installing", page 55
– Remove the bolts -arrows- for the coolant pump ribbed belt
pulley using a Wrench - Pin Type - 3212- to counterhold.
– Remove the bolts and remove the ribbed belt pulley.
– Disconnect the connector -3- on the Engine Coolant Temper‐
ature Sensor - G62- .
– Open the clamps and remove the coolant hoses -1 and 4-.
– Loosen the clamp -2- and remove the upper coolant hose.
– Loosen the hose clamp -5-.
– Remove the bolts -arrows- and the front coolant pipe.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
• Tightening specifications. Refer to
Pipes", page 195
Note
♦ Replace the seals and O-rings.
♦ Secure all hose connections with hose clamps of the same
type as those equipped by the factory. Refer to the Parts Cat‐
alog.
– Clean or smooth out the seals and O-ring sealing surfaces.
– Coat the sealing rings and O-rings with coolant and then
mount them on the coolant pipe.
– Connect the coolant hose to the coupling. Refer to
""Connect Coolant Hose to Coupling"" , page 216
– Install the coolant pump ribbed belt pulley. Refer to
"2.1 Overview - Coolant Pump and Thermostat ", page 192
– Install the ribbed belt. Refer to
and Installing", page 55
– Install the left front coolant pipes. Refer to
Coolant Pipes, Removing and Installing", page 201
– Fill with coolant. Refer to
