Caution
Fuel grades other than those listed on
pages Fuel (for Gasoline Engines), Engine
Data could damage the catalytic
converter or electronic components. Fuel
0 104.
Unburnt gasoline will overheat and
damage the catalytic converter. Therefore
avoid excessive use of the starter,
running the fuel tank dry and starting
the engine by pushing or towing.
In the event of misfiring, uneven engine
running, a reduction in engine performance
or other unusual problems, have the cause
of the fault rectified by a workshop as soon
as possible. In an emergency, driving can be
continued for a short period, keeping vehicle
speed and engine speed low.

Automatic Transmission

The automatic transmission permits
automatic gear shifting D (Automatic Mode)
or manual gear shifting M (Manual Mode).
The automatic transmission is an
electronically controlled six-speed
transmission.
The selected gear is shown in the
instrument cluster.
P : Park.
Driving and Operating
This position locks the front wheels. Use
P (Park) when starting the engine because
the vehicle cannot move easily. Use only
when the vehicle is stationary
Warning
The automatic engine Stop/Start feature
causes the engine to shut off while the
vehicle is still on. Do not exit the vehicle
before shifting to P (Park). The vehicle
may restart and move unexpectedly.
Always shift to P (Park), and then turn
the ignition off before exiting the vehicle.
The vehicle has an automatic transmission
shift lock control system. You must fully
apply the regular brake first and then press
the shift lever button before shifting from
P (Park) when the ignition is on. If you
cannot shift out of P (Park), ease pressure on
the shift lever, then push the shift lever all
the way into P (Park) as you maintain brake
application. Then press the shift lever button
and move the shift lever into another gear.

R : Reverse. Use this gear to back up.
