Installation

NOTE: Maximum Mounting Height for Products is 18.8 ft
1.
De-energize the circuit at the junction box where the
emergency light is to be installed.
2.
Open the emergency light by inserting a flat-head
screwdriver in the slots on the sides of the unit, then
turning to separate the housing from the backplate. It is
recommended to open at least one on each side of the
unit. (See Figure 1)

To mount to a junction box - knock out/drill out the
appropriate mounting pattern and the wire pass hole
in the backplate and the back gasket to fit the junction
box being used. Align the gasket with the housing using
the notch on the bottom right of the gasket.

To mount to conduit, unscrew the 1/2" NPT plug
located at the top of the backplate and screw in the
customer-supplied conduit hub.
5.
Secure the emergency light to the wall and/or junction
box using installer supplied hardware. Ensure any
additional waterproofing is completed as necessary.
6.
Connect the white wire to the neutral line. Connect the
orange wire to the hot line (120 – 277VAC). System not
designed to use Switching functionality and Daylight
Sensing simultaneously.

red wire to a customer-supplied switch connected
to a hot line. Connect the daylight sensor bypass
connector (in the parts bag) to the daylight sensor
wires (blue with red connector).

If Daylight Sensing is desired, connect the internal
daylight wire harness (blue wire with red connector)
to the internal sensor connector. Cap off the red wire
from the power wiring harness.
7.
Connect the green grounding wire to the building's earth
ground. Cap any unused wires. See Wiring Schematics
on the next page for additional details.
8.
Complete the battery connection and snap the cover
onto the backplate.
9.
Energize AC supply. The test button should illuminate,
and LED lamp heads will briefly illuminate. The LED
lamps heads will illuminate briefly when the test button
is pushed.
10. Adjust the heads as needed. The lenses utilize a highly
directional beam, and the lenses can be rotated to
adjust the beams to the front or sides of the fixture (see
Figure 2).
