Positioning the female patient

1 Position the female patient in the prone position with the breasts
in the recesses.
2 When positioning the patient with the arms above the head:
Position a suitable pad between the hands to avoid current loops.
3 Use suitable positioning aids.

Performing the measurement

1 Align the laser-light localizer with the center marking of the coil.
2 Start the measurement.

Quality measurement

The quality measurement of the 4 Ch BI Breast is performed in the
head first and the feet first orientations.
Use the following accessories for the quality measurement:
◾ MAGNETOM Avanto: 2000 ml plastic bottle
◾ MAGNETOM Verio: 1900 ml plastic bottle + 3 cm spacer cushion
✓ All RF coils have been removed from the patient table.
✓
MAGNETOM Verio only: The appropriate spacer cushion is
positioned on the patient table.
✓ 4 Ch BI Breast is positioned on the frame and connected.
