before turning it on.
MOVING/ROTATING THE TOOL CARRIER
See Figures 15 - 16.
WARNING:
To prevent the tool carrier from falling unexpectedly,
always hold the tool carrier when tightening or loosening
the height and rotation lock lever.
 Unplug the power cord or remove the battery pack from
the rotary tool.
 Hold the tool carrier firmly with one hand.
 With the other hand, loosen the height and rotation lock
lever.
 Move the tool carrier up, down, or around the column to
the desired position.
 To lock the tool carrier in position, hold the tool carrier
with one hand and tighten the height and rotation lock
lever with the other.
BEVELING THE TOOL CARRIER
See Figures 17 - 18.
 Unplug the power cord or remove the battery pack from
the rotary tool.
 Hold the tool carrier firmly with one hand.
 Loosen the bevel lock knob.
 Pull the detent bypass knob away from the tool.
 Bevel the tool carrier until the pointer aligns with the
desired angle on the bevel scale.
OPERATION
NOTE: The tool carrier bevels to the left only. There are
positive stops at 0°, 15°, 30°, 45°, 60°, 75°, and 90°.
 Once the tool carrier is in position, release the detent
bypass knob and tighten the bevel lock knob.
DRILLING
See Figure 19 - 20.
 If applicable, slide the table away from the base and
reinstall it with the routing side facing up.
 Position the fence on the table and lock it in place.
 Place the workpiece flat on the table with one edge
securely against the fence.
NOTE: Use the scales on the fence and table to help
position the workpiece.
 Using a clamping device, secure the workpiece to the
table. To protect the top surface of the workpiece, use a
piece of scrap wood between the clamping device and
the workpiece.
 Mount the rotary tool.
 Select the proper drill bit based on the hole size desired.
For large holes, drill a pilot hole first, using a smaller
diameter bit.
 Install the drilling bit into the rotary tool collet according
to the rotary tool operator's manual.
 Adjust the height and position of the tool carrier and lock
it in place. For angled operation, bevel the tool carrier.
NOTE: Reposition the workpiece if necessary.
WARNING:
Operating the tool without the bevel lock knob and/or
the height and rotation lock lever secured can result in
serious injury.
 If desired, adjust the drilling depth as described later.
 Make sure the work table is free of all loose objects and
the bit is not in contact with the workpiece.
 Plug the rotary tool in or install the battery pack.
 Before turning on the tool, perform a dry run of the
operation to make sure that no problems will occur during
use.
 Turn on the rotary tool ON.
 Select the appropriate speed for bit rotation according to
the rotary tool operator's manual. Make sure bit rotates
freely.
