7.3 Communication
Description
The 1st and 2nd status byte is structured as follows:
Table 7-1
When bit 7 = 1: Communication error
Bit 6 = 1
Bit 5 = 1
Bit 4 = 1
Bit 3 = 1
Bit 2 = 0
Bit 1 = 1
Bit 0 = 0
When Bit 7 = 0: Bit 0 to 6 Specific according to the response frame
Table 7-2
Bit 7 = 1
Bit 6 = 1
Bit 5 = 1
Bit 4 = 1
Bit 3 = 1
Bit 2 = 1
Bit 1 = 1
Bit 0 = 1

Useful information about communication
Reference is made to communication with HART in the following.
HART communication
With enabled HART operation, the analog module independently sends HART commands to the
connected field devices. This always takes place alternatingly on a channel-specific basis with
any pending external HART commands that arrive via the command interface of the module.
• HART command (Page 39)
• HART command interface (Page 63)
The I/O module is used in the following operation:
Parallel operation (Page 41)

1st status byte
Parity error
Overflow
Framing error
Checksum error
