1. Follow Pressure Relief Procedure, page 9, before
checking or repairing the equipment.
2. Check all possible problems and causes before
disassembling the equipment.
Cause
Low fluid pressure
Low fluid pressure
Fluid too viscous
Fluid supply is low
Tip orifice too small for fluid
Fluid needle is binding
Piston packing is binding
Obstructed or worn needle or seat
Spring housing assembly (5, 6) not
fully tightened
Pump not operating
Fluid line clogged
Fluid valve closed
Clogged spray tip or needle seat
No actuator air pressure
Worn or dry piston packings
Low fluid pressure
Clogged spray tip or needle seat
Fluid buildup on tip or worn tip
Solution
Increase pressure to pump or adjust
fluid pressure regulator.
Increase pressure to pump or adjust
fluid pressure regulator.
Decrease fluid viscosity by thinning,
heating, or agitation.
Refill supply.
Change to larger tip.
Clean, repair.
Repair.
Clean or replace.
Fully tighten the spring housing
assembly (5, 6) in the air cylinder
cap (4).
Refer to separate pump manual.
Clear.
Open.
Clean.
Check, clean air lines.
Replace.
Increase pressure to pump or adjust
fluid pressure regulator.
Clean.
Clean, replace.
