increases the value of second-hand machines.
9.2

PREPARATION

All maintenance and control inter-
ventions must be performed with the
machine stationary and the engine
switched off.
Always apply the parking brake to pre-
vent the machine from moving.
Stop the engine.
Avoid accidental engine starts by dis-
connecting the spark plug cables and
removing the ignition key.
9.3

MAINTENANCE TABLE

See chapter "13 SUMMARY MAINTE-
NANCE TABLE". The table will help
you maintain your machine's safety
and performance. It summarises the
main interventions to be made and the
frequency applicable to each of them.
Carry out the relevant intervention ac-
cording to the first deadline.
Change the oil more often if the engine
has to run in difficult conditions or at a
high ambient temperature.
9.4

TYRE PRESSURE

Adjust tyre pressure to the values indicated in "0
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION TABLE"

ENGINE OIL TOP UP/CHANGE

For this maintenance, see also the
engine manual supplied with the ma-
chine.

9.5.1 Check/top-up (21)

Always check the oil level before use.

1. Wipe around the dipstick.
2. Unscrew and remove the dipstick.
3. Wipe the dipstick clean.
4. Push the dipstick down completely
without screwing it into place.

5. Pull the dipstick out again and check
the oil level.
6. Top up if the level is lower than the
upper limit mark (21).
The oil level must never exceed the up-
per limit mark. The engine would over-
heat. If the oil level exceeds the upper
limit mark, it is necessary to drain to
the correct level.
Change the oil more often if the engine has to
run in difficult conditions or at a high ambient
temperature.

9.5.2 Change/filling (21)

For the intervention timing see chapter
13.
For the type of oil see "0 TECHNICAL
SPECIFICATIONS TABLE"
Use oil without additives.
Change the oil with the engine warm.
The oil may be very hot if removed just
after the engine has been switched off.
Consequently allow the engine to cool
down for a few minutes before pro-
ceeding to drain off the oil.

Proceed as follows:
1. Place the machine on a flat surface.
2. Engage the parking brake.
3. Open the engine bonnet.
4. Grasp the clamp on the oil drain hose. Use
adjustable pliers, polygrip or similar (21:A).
5. Move the clamp along the oil drain hose up-
wards by 3-4 cm and remove the cap.
6. Collect the oil in a container.
NOTE! Be careful not to spill oil on the
drive belts.
7. Insert the oil drain plug and slide the clamp
back over the plug.
8. Clean up any spills.
9. Remove the dipstick and top up with new oil.
For the quantity of oil see "0 TECHNICAL
SPECIFICATIONS TABLE"
10. Each time you fill, start the engine and idle
for 30 seconds.
11. Check there are no oil leaks.
