IDE DRIVER

The on-chip IDE controller supports two separate IDE controllers for up to 4
IDE devices providing an interface for IDE hard disks and CD-ROMS. The
Ultra DMA specification (which supports the 33M bytes per second transfer
rate) has been implemented in this IDE controller. The ATA bus pins & the
smart deep Buffer (16 x 32-bit Read Ahead and Posted Write) are all dedi-
cated for separate channel to improve the reliability and the performance of
IDE Master. Dedicated Pins and Buffers are also the best implementation for
today's concurrent OS and application to reduce overhead and achieve the
best performance. The IDE controller also supports Tri-state IDE signals for
Swap Bay support.
