Install the printer driver.
CAUTION
Do not connect the USB cable to your magicolor
2400W until instructed to do so.
1. Insert the magicolor 2400W Utilities & Documenta-
tion CD-ROM in the CD-ROM/DVD drive of your
PC.
2. The CD-ROM Installer automatically starts.
CAUTION
If the Installer doesn't automatically start, use Win-
dows Explorer to browse the CD-ROM and double-
click setup.exe.
Do not use the 'Add Printer' wizard and Plug &
Play to install the magicolor 2400W driver and utili-
ties.
3. Follow the instructions on the screen.
Note
When instructed to do so, connect the USB cable
to your magicolor 2400W as shown below.

If the "Found New Hardware" (Windows XP/2000)
or the "Add New Hardware" (Windows Me/98) wiz-
ard displays, cancel it after completing the installa-
tion.
4. When the driver and utilities are installed, remove
the CD-ROM and store it in a safe place.

Configure the printer driver.
(Windows XP):
From the Windows menu bar, select start - Printers
and Faxes. Right-click the KONICA MINOLTA magi-
color 2400W printer icon. Select Printing Prefer-
ences - Paper tab.
(Windows 2000):
From the Windows menu bar, select Start - Settings -
Printers. Right-click the KONICA MINOLTA magi-
color 2400W printer icon. Select Printing Prefer-
ences - Paper tab.
(Windows Me/98SE):
From the Windows menu bar, select Start - Settings -
Printers. Right-click the KONICA MINOLTA magi-
color 2400W printer icon. Select Properties - Printer
Properties - Paper tab.
1. Select the printer defaults you use, such as the me-
dia size, the orientation of your media, etc.
2. Click Apply.
3. Click OK and close all subsequent windows.

Open the Status Display.
(Windows XP):
From the Windows menu bar, select start - All Pro-
grams - KONICA MINOLTA magicolor 2400W Utili-
ties - KONICA MINOLTA magicolor 2400W Status.
(Windows 2000/Me/98SE):
From the Windows menu bar, select Start - Programs
- KONICA MINOLTA magicolor 2400W Utilities -
KONICA MINOLTA magicolor 2400W Status.
1. Close the Status Display (the Status Display icon
remains on the Windows menu bar).
Note
If the printer driver was installed with Plug and
Play, the Status Display was not installed.
Follow the procedure described below to install the
Status Display.
(Windows XP/2000):
After the printer driver is installed using Plug and
Play, the Select Installation Type dialog box
appears.
Select Add Utilities, and then click Next.
(Windows Me/98SE):
If the printer driver is installed using Plug and Play,
a message appears, prompting you to install the
Status Display.
Follow the procedure described below to install the
Status Display.
1. Insert the magicolor 2400W Utilities & Docu-
mentation CD-ROM into the CD-ROM/DVD
drive of your computer.
The CD-ROM installer automatically starts.
2. In the Select Installation Type dialog box, select
Add Utilities, and then click Next.

the driver, Status Display, using media, replacing con-
