If necessary, press the ENTER key to view the Login screen. The system asks for a user
name and password for authentication. Follow the steps in Procedure 6.
STEP

At the 'User Name:' prompt, type root. Then hit the ENTER key.

At the 'Password:' prompt, type root. Then hit the ENTER key.
User Name and Password are preset. Both responses are case-sensitive;
use lower-case letters only.
Root (admin access) can view and modify all values. After passing authentication, users
login to the Main Menu.
Provisioning is performed via the Configuration Manager sub-menu. Table 8 shows
provisionable features and factory-set default settings.

Permits assigning a 12-character name to each DS1
Superframe, extended superframe, or unframed
Alternate mark inversion or bipolar with 8-zero substitution
0–133 ft., 133–266 ft., 266–399 ft., 399–532 ft., 532–655 ft., OR
0, 7.5, or 15 dB
Enable or disable
1, 2, 4, 8, 24 minutes, or none (no timeout on manual loopback)
Send AIS to network (fiber), initiate loopback, or no action
Send AIS to DS1.
Turn off DS1 transmitter.
NT (customer-premises equipment) or LT (central office) side of
network
