Running the Terminal Emulation Software
Follow the steps in Procedure 5 to run the terminal emulation software on your PC.

Procedure 5. Running Terminal Emulation Software
Connect the RS-232 communications cable from the COM1 (or any other
available COM) port on the PC to the DB-9 female connector on the
O3-4D1L3 front panel.
Start Windows (XP setup is described below).
From the Windows Start menu, choose All Programs
Communications
HyperTerminal (or equivalent terminal emulation program).
If desired, click the Yes button in the Default Telnet Program? dialog box to
select HyperTerminal as your default telnet program.
At the 'Name:' prompt in the Connection Description dialog box, type
O3-4D1L3. Then select an icon that you wish to represent the O3-4D1L3 to
simplify future access. Next click the OK button to display the Connect To
dialog box.
At the 'Connect using:' prompt, select "COM1" (or other appropriate port
number, as chosen in Step 1) from the pull-down menu.
Click the OK button to display the COM1 Properties dialog box. Using the
pull-down menus, select the following parameters:
A) "9600" bits per second
B) "8" data bits
C) "None" parity
D) "1" stop bit
E) "None" flow control
Click the OK button.
From the File
Properties menu, choose the Settings tab to select the following
parameters:
A) At the 'Function, arrow, and ctrl keys act as' prompt, select "Terminal
keys."
B) At the 'Emulation' prompt, select "VT100" from the pull-down menu.
Click the OK button and then hit the ENTER key to access login.
