• Scroll to the required zone, and press Select.
Depending on how the radio is programmed, you may be able to press a function key, use the Quick
Access menu or use the 3-way selector to select a zone.
The radio can be configured to indicate the zone in which it is operating, either as a letter in the top right
corner of the display, or as a zone name in the second line of the display, or neither.
2. Select the required talkgroup:
• Press Menu and select Channels.
• Scroll to the required talkgroup, and press Select.
Depending on how the radio is programmed, you may be able to press a function key, use the Quick
Access menu or use the channel selector to select a talkgroup.
The radio now indicates the currently selected talkgroup.
3. To call this talkgroup, hold the radio so that the microphone is about one inch (2.5 cm) from your mouth.
4. Press and hold the PTT key to transmit.
5. When you hear three short beeps, speak clearly into the microphone and release the PTT key when you
have finished talking.
While transmitting, the LED glows red and the transmit,
in the display.

Receiving a Talkgroup Call

To hear calls from other members of a talkgroup, your radio must have that talkgroup selected, or the talkgroup must
be part of an active scan group.
