DM8 MP DIAGNOSTIC TEST PROCEDURE
Note that the trigger level shown (displayed after "Trig 0 =") will vary. There is no need to note the actual
level unless it fails.
All cables will have their TIPS tested. However, some cables will have additional tests the RING and/or
SWITCH inputs.
e) If the TIP passes and the cable being tested has a RING input, a screen similar to this will be shown:
Press S2 on the trigger tester to test the RING. As before, if the correct signal level is detected, the LCD will
display the following briefly:
f) If the TIP or RING passes and the cable being tested has a SWITCH input, a screen similar to this will be
shown:
Press S3 on the trigger tester to test the SWITCH. If a switch closure is detected, the LCD will display the
following briefly:
g) At this point, if all the previous tests pass (TIP, and/or RING, and/or SWITCH), the LCD will display the
following.
h) Plug a different DB25 cable into the trigger tester and repeat from step c until all 10 trigger inputs have
been tested (including PERC1 and PERC2 jacks). When all the cables/jacks have been tested (and all
passed) the LCD will display the following:
PERC1 JACK
Test RING
PERC1 JACK
Test RING
Level OK
Trig 1 = 298
PERC1 JACK
Test SWITCH
PERC1 JACK
Test SWITCH
Level OK
Trig 1 = 16383
PERC1 JACK
Jack OK
TRIGGERS
Passed
