5- In water charged star-delta start-up motors, measure the insulation of
each duct by making one end of the Meger Unit touch each of the multi-
duct two electricity cables and the other end touch the pump casing.
- The duct with an insulation value of 0 mega ohm is the frame
conductor.
- Insulation of other ducts has to be at least 100 mega ohms
6- In case the cable requires an extension, immerse the cable into water
and re-check insulation. If the insulation value of any duct is lower than
100 mega ohms, the extension has to be re-made.
7. Connect the electrode cables to the stage electrodes (Page 29 Detail
A).
-
Lower stage electrode is connected so that it is suspended H meters
above the pump exit port. Distance H is calculated with the formulas
below:
!
If B + 9 > NPSH then H = 0,3 meter.
If B + 9 < NPSH then H = NPSH – (B+9) meters.
B = Pump height
-
Upper stage electrode is connected so that it is suspended 3 meters
above the lower stage electrode (except for Large wells)
8.
Descend the pump and pipe group into the well with a pulley block
system until the clamp is suspended on the well opening.
- Motor power cables and water level electrode cables must not be
damaged during this operation.
9.
Fasten the motor power cables and level check electrode cables on
the pumping pipe with 1,5 – 3 m intervals using special plastic clamps.
- During this operation, small plastic parts of 2-3 mm thickness must
be placed between the cable and the pumping pipe and damage to
the cable due to tightness must be prevented and the electrical isola-
tion of the pipe must be strengthened.
- If special plastic clamps cannot be found, plastic threads that do not
decay under water can be used.
- Cables should never be connected on the pumping pipe with metal
clamps.
10. Fasten another clamp under the second pipe sleeve.
11. Fasten the second pipe to make the first pipe that is suspended in the
well opening leakproof.
