SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

• A submersible pump group consists of a motor and a pump. A multi-step,
vertical, and centrifugal pump is mechanically attached to an electric mo-
tor operating in water.
• In 6", 7", 8", 10", and 14" submersible pumps, pump rod has slide bea-
rings. Pump bearings are lubricated by the clean water.
• In 6", 7", 8", 10", and 14" submersible pumps, motor shaft has slide bea-
rings as well. Motor bearings are cooled by the clean water charged into
motor. Electric cable is water resistant.

For 6", 7", 8", 10", 14" pumps, if there is no green warning label
on the motor, the motor must be filled with clean water before it
is submerged in the well.
• Maximum well water temperature is:
• Alarko submersible pumps are designed to operate in clean water. Maxi-
mum grit content of the water well is to be
- 25 gr/m³ for 4" submersible pumps, and
- 50 gr/m³ for 6", 8", 10", and 14" submersible pumps.

The grit content of well water is to be determined by a labora-
tory. If the grit content is above limits, do not operate the pump.
High grit content may damage some parts of the pump and re-
duce its life. Producers and authorised dealers cannot be hold
responsible for troubles arising from high grit content in the gu-
arantee period. In such a case, the well should be rehabilitated
and the grit level should be reduced.
