09 Controlling the rest of your system

Controls for other components

This remote control can control these components after entering the proper codes or teaching the receiver the
commands (see Setting the remote to control other components on page 50 for more on this). Use the MULTI
CONTROL buttons to select the component.
Button (s) Function
SOURCE Press to switch the component between standby and on.
Press to return to the start of the current track or chapter.
Repeated presses skips to the start of previous tracks or chapters.
Go back channels (channel –).
Press to advance to the start of the next track or chapter.
Repeated presses skips to the start of following tracks or chapters.
Go forward channels (channel +).
Pause playback or recording.
Start playback.
Hold down for fast forward playback.
Hold down for fast reverse playback.
Stops playback (on some models, pressing this when the disc is already stopped will
cause the disc tray to open).
ì REC
Starts recording. To prevent accidental recording, this button must be pressed twice to
take effect (the second press must be within 10 seconds of the first).
(SHIFT+ )
REC STOP Stops recording.
(SHIFT+ )
Number Directly access tracks on a program source.

Use the number buttons to navigate the on-screen
display.
+10 button
Selects tracks higher than 10. (For example, press +10 then 3 to select track 13.)
ENTER/ Chooses the disc.
DISC
Ejects the disc.
Use as the ENTER button.
Use as the CLEAR button.
Displays the setup screen for DVR players.
Changes sides of the LD.
TOP MENU
Displays the disc 'top' menu of a DVD player.
MENU Displays menus concerning the current DVD or DVR you are using.
Pauses the tape.
Stops the tape.
ENTER
Starts playback.
Fast rewinds/fast forwards the tape.
& Navigates DVD menu/options.
ENTER
GUIDE
Press to access the DVD player setup screen.
CH +/–
Selects channels.
Selects tracks.
AUDIO Changes the audio language or channel.
SUBTITLE
Displays/changes the subtitles on multilingual DVDs.
HDD
(SHIFT+CH–) Switches to the hard disk controls when using a DVD/HDD recorder.
DVD
(SHIFT+CH+) Switches to the DVD controls when using a DVD/HDD recorder.
