CORRECTIVE MEASURE
WHAT TO DO IF YOU SMELL GAS
Do not try to light any appliance.
Do not touch any electrical switch; do
not use any phone in your building.
Leave the building immediately and call
your gas supplier from a neighbor's
phone or a cell phone well away from
the building. Follow the gas supplier's
instructions. If you cannot reach your
gas supplier, call the fire department.
Turn shutoff valve to
"open"
Turn fireplace
"off"
and then back
Wait for pilot flame to strengthen
Check pressures. See page 12.
Clean pilot. See maintenance page 79.
Check ground connections
Vent restrictor not installed
