None (LED not
on or flashing)
One flash and
three second
pause
LED strobe (two
quick flashes)
and three
second pause
LED on
continuously
Two flashes and
three second
pause
Three flashes
and three

Four flashes and
three second
pause
Control Status
Millivolt power is not
present. Light pilot.
If set point knob is in
"PILOT" position, then
pilot flame is detected.
(no faults).
Thermostat calling for
heat (no faults).
Set point knob has
been recently turned
to the "OFF" position.
Weak pilot flame
detected. System will
reset when pilot flame
is sufficient.
Insufficient water
heating. System will
reset.
Excessive tank
temperature. System
must be reset.
Probable Cause
1. Gas valve is functioning
normally.
2. Gas valve is not powered.
Light pilot.
Gas valve is powered and
waiting for the set point knob
to be turned to a water
temperature setting. If the set
point knob is at desired
setting the thermostat is
satisfied.
Water heater operating
normally.
Set point knob was recently
turn to "OFF" position. Wait
until LED goes out before
attempting to relight.
1. Gas valve is functioning
normally.
2. Gas valve is not powered.
Light pilot.
1. Temperature sensor out of
calibration.
2. Possible short.
1. Temperature sensor out of
calibration.
2. Faulty gas valve.
