Check the hardware specifications of your printer cable. Operation of the
BJ Status Monitor requires bi-directional data transfer between the
computer and printer. The printer cable must be capable of bi-directional
data transfer.

Open the Printer Properties dialog box from the Start menu.

Click the Details tab and click the Spool Settings button.
