To identify connectors for external devices

The diagrams below show your computer's connectors for external devices and for the
port replicator.
Locating connectors on the computer
1. PS/2 keyboard or PS/2 mouse port (supports Y adapter).
2. AC adapter jack.
3. Two universal serial bus (USB) ports.
4. LAN port (on certain models).
5. S-video port (on certain models).
6. Parallel port (LPT1). Use this port for a parallel printer or other parallel device.
7. Serial port (COM1).
8. External monitor port.
9. Modem port (on certain models).
