Cleaning the Fax

Dust, dirt, and paper dust on the surfaces inside and outside of the fax can interfere with proper fax per-
formance and quality. Clean the fax at regular intervals.
NOTE
• Before starting the cleaning procedure, be sure to turn OFF the Power Switch and unplug the power
cord from the outlet.
• Use a soft cloth for the cleaning. Do not use abrasives or corrosive detergent.
The fusing section of the Printer Cover can become very hot during operation. Do not touch
the area as it may cause a burn.

Cleaning the Outside

Using a soft cloth dampened with mild
dishwashing detergent, wipe the outside of
the fax clean of dirt.

Cleaning the Inside

Open the Scanner Cover.
NOTE
When you are cleaning with the Scanner Cover
open, be sure to hold the Scanner Cover with
one hand.

Using a soft cloth, wipe the surface of the
Contact Image Sensor clean of dirt and paper
dust.

Clean the dirt and lint off the surface of the
Document Feeding Roller with a soft cloth.
