Formatting the card
Cards must be formatted with this camera before first use or after being used with
other cameras or computers.
All data stored on the card, including protected images, is erased when the card is
formatted.
When formatting a used card, confirm there are no images that you still want to keep
on the card. g "Usable cards" (P. 167)

Select [Card Setup] in the e Setup Menu and press
I.
• If there is data on the card, menu items appear. Select
[Format] and press the Q button.

Select [Yes] and press the Q button.
• Formatting is performed.
Deleting all images
All images on a card can be deleted at a time. Protected images are not deleted.

Select [Card Setup] in the e Setup Menu and press

Select [All Erase] and press the Q button.

Select [Yes] and press the Q button.
• All images are deleted.
Choosing a language
Choose a language for camera menus and guides.

Select [W] in the e Setup Menu and press I.

Highlight the desired language using the front or
rear dial or FGHI.
• The language-selection dialog has two pages of
options. Use the front or rear dial or FGHI to move
the cursor between pages.

Press the Q button when the desired language is highlighted.
