Setup Procedures

Express Setup precedes the setup by selecting or inputting several parameters on the wizard.
You can also save the parameters to a floppy disk as a Parameters file.
IMPORTANT:
To execute Express Setup with a Parameters file, one empty 1.44MB formatted floppy disk
is required. Prepare an empty floppy disk in advance.
When you reinstall OS, you can skip entering the parameter in the Wizard form, by reading
the Parameters file that has been saved.
CHECK:
In case of changing the system configuration, update the system (page 6-8).
For Windows Server 2008
IMPORTANT:
The Scalable Networking Pack (SNP) function is disabled in the system that installed by
Express Setup.
If you use the SNP function, enable it manually after the reboot.
1. Turn the power of peripheral device on, and then turn on the server.
2. Insert the NEC EXPRESSBUILDER DVD into the optical disk drive of the server.
3. After inserting the DVD, reset the server by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Del, or you may power
cycle to reboot the server.
The system will boot from the
DVD and NEC
EXPRESSBUILDER starts.
Select "Os installation" from
the Boot selection menu.
(After selecting "Yes" on the
confirmation screen, the dialog
of procedure 4 is displayed.)
4. Select "English" when the
"Select Language" screen is
displayed.
