Troubleshooting

Please check following points. For details, refer to the corresponding pages.
Problem
Power does not turn on.
No image appears.
Image is fuzzy.
Color is pale or grayish.
Audio is not output.
Remote control does not
work.
Buttons on the control
panel do not work.

Image from a computer
does not appear.
Video from HDMI

not appear or it appears

Chapter 6 Maintenance - Troubleshooting
f Is the power plug firmly connected to the outlet?
f Is the wall outlet supplying electricity?
f Have the circuit breakers tripped?
f Is the light source indicator <LIGHT> or temperature indicator <TEMP> lit or blinking?
f Are connections to external devices correctly performed?
f Is the input selection setting correct?
f Is the [BRIGHTNESS] adjustment setting at a minimum?
f Is the external device that is connected to the projector working properly?
f Is the shutter function activated?
f Is the lens cap still attached?
f Is the lens focus set correctly?
f Is the projection distance appropriate?
f Is the lens dirty?
f Is the projector installed perpendicular to the screen?
f Is [COLOR] or [TINT] adjusted correctly?
f Is the external device connected to the projector adjusted correctly?
f Is the RGB signal cable damaged?
f Is the external device connected correctly to the audio input terminal?
f Is the volume set to the minimum level?
f Is the shutter function activated?
f Is the mute function activated?
f Is the audio input selection in [AUDIO SETTING] set correctly?
f Is the cable connected to the <VARIABLE AUDIO OUT> terminal? If connected, the built-in
speaker will not output audio.
f Are the batteries depleted?
f Is the polarity of the batteries set correctly?
f Are there any obstructions between the remote control and the remote control signal
receiver of the projector?
f Is the remote control used beyond its effective operation range?
f Is the remote control subject to influences from fluorescent light, etc.
f Is the [REMOTE CONTROLLER] setting in [CONTROL DEVICE SETUP] set to
[DISABLE]?
f Is the ID number setting operation correct?
f Is the [CONTROL PANEL] setting in [CONTROL DEVICE SETUP] set to [DISABLE]?
f Is there a problem with the video tape or other image sources on the external devices to
output images?
f Is the signal input incompatible with the projector?
f Is the cable too long? (For D-Sub cables, the cable length should be 10 m (32'10") or
shorter.)
f Is the external video output on the laptop computer set correctly? (Ex.: The external output
settings may be switched by pressing the "Fn" + "F3" or "Fn" + "F10" simultaneously. Since
the method varies depending on the computer type, refer to the user manual provided with
your computer.)
f Is the HDMI cable securely connected?
f Turn the power of the projector and the external device off and on.
f Is the signal input incompatible with the projector?
f Set to the linear PCM audio for the connected devices.
f Is the cable compatible to the condition of the projector used?
f Are the connections between the twisted-pair-cable transmitter and the projector or an
external device correctly done?
f Is [DIGITAL LINK MODE] set to [AUTO], [DIGITAL LINK] or [LONG REACH]? Is it set to
[ETHERNET]?
f Is the signal input incompatible with the twisted-pair-cable transmitter?
