6.0 USING THE SEATING SYSTEM

6.3 Preparing for side transfer

1.
Move your system as close as you can to the seat you are transferring to. If possible, use a transfer board.
2.
Transfer as far back onto the seat surface as you can. This will reduce the risk that you will miss the seat
or fall.
1.
Some versions of the controller will need to be swung aside.
2.
Remove the tray before folding back the armrest.
3.
Do not lean on the armrest when folded back.
Dual-post height adjustable armrest (Option)
(Fig 6.5)
1.
To remove armrest for transfer:
a.
Disengage levers (A and B) so front and rear posts are able to come free.
b.
Armrest can now be easily removed for transferring.
2.
To reattach armrest:
a.
Insert front and rear posts into armrest receivers.
b.
Engage levers (A and B) to secure armrest.
Single post height-adjustable armrest (Option) (Fig 6.6)
1.
To remove armrest for transfer:
a.
Press on the release lever and remove the armrest.
2.
To reattach armrest:
a.
Slide the outer armpost into the receiver mounted to the wheelchair frame.
b.
The armrest will automatically lock into place.
Cantilever armrest (Fig 6.7)
1.
On the side you wish to transfer from, fl ip the armrest all the way up until it goes into its mechanical
stop. This frees your space for side transfer.
