Behind-the-Head Headset
This section provides information on using the headset and recommended cable position.
1.1

Using the Headset

Procedure:
1 Turn off your radio.
2 Connect the headset to your radio. Ensure the mounting screw (where applicable) is not too
tight.
3 Turn on your radio. Ensure the volume setting is not too high.
4 Adjust the velcro head strap for best fit or comfort.
5 To talk from the headset microphone, position the boom microphone approximately 0.5 inches to
0.75 inches away from your mouth. Then, press and hold the PTT button.
6 To listen from the headset speakers, release the PTT button.
NOTE: On some radio models, the Voice Over Activation (VOX) functionality is activated
from the radio settings. Refer to the radio Customer Programming Software (CPS) for
configuration.
