3. Removing the balancing weight (Tools menu/ Machine setup)

If the balancing weights cannot be attached to the rotor by clamping,
welding, screwing or similar, the imbalance can also be compensated
by grinding material off the rotor. To do this, select the "Trial/ Trim
weights -> remove" option in "Tools" menu (see below). VIBXPERT
then calculates the "Balancing weights" with negative sign.

4. Check functions (Tools menu / Machine setup)

In order to ensure that the balancing procedure provides reliable and
usable results, VIBXPERT has the following check functions:
• Press the MENU button in the data screen, and click on "Tools" (see
below)*.
c
heck speeD
During measurement and between the balancing runs VIBXPERT
checks whether the RPM is stable. An appropriate error message
appears if the RPM varies excessively.
c
heck baD influence
The change of the imbalance indicator is checked between the bal-
ancing runs; if the change is too large or too small, an appropriate
message appears. Return to the previous balancing run and reduce
or increase the weight used.
c
heck stability
The stability of the imbalance indicator is checked during the mea-
surement. If the imbalance indicator is unstable and the 'Auto-aver-
age' option is active (s. p. 2-28), VIBXPERT automatically increases
the selected number of averages in the measurement setup. An ap-
propriate message appears if the maximum number of averages is
reached.
