Blade Servicing

WARNING
Wear heavy gloves when
handling or working around
cutting blades. Blades are
extremely sharp and can
cause severe injury.
WARNING
For your personal safety, if blade is damaged, it must
be replaced.
Note: Deck must be removed
to service blades. See Deck
Removal.
1
To remove blade, use a block of wood to prevent
blade rotation while loosening capscrew.
1
2
If the blade is in good condition, sharpen at 22 to
28 degrees.
DO NOT sharpen beyond existing cutting edge.
3
4
After sharpening the blades, check to make sure
they are balanced. Place the center hole of the
blade on a nail lubricated with a drop of oil. A
balanced blade will remain level. If necessary,
correct blade balance by grinding the heavy end
of the blade.
