The software update is able to be performed via network, too. (Refer to Section 1-10.)

2-4-1. Preparation

Required equipment/Tools
. Personal computer (PC): OS: Windows 7/8/10
. RS-232C straight cable:

For obtaining the each version upgrade file, contact your local Sony Sales Office/Service Center.
. USB memory: Compatible with USB 2.0
(Free space of 64 MB or more, FAT format (except for exFAT))
Connection
. When "System information" is not displayed from the information screen of the menu
"2-5-4. Sub" can be performed only by the connection using RS-232C.
"2-5-5. Ext (Network)" can be performed only by the connection using the USB memory.

All CPUs can be updated collectively via network and USB memory.

ExtCPU version checking method
1. Enter the service mode. (Refer to Section 2-3-1.)
2. Confirm the EXT ROM version on the information screen.
