Auto notch function

The auto notch function automatically attenuates
more than 3 beat tones, tuning signals, etc., even if
they are moving.
The auto notch functions in SSB mode only.

tion ON.
e Push [AUTO NOTCH] again to cancel the function.

Noise reduction

The noise reduction function reduces noise compo-
nents and picks out desired signals which are buried
in noise. The received AF signals are converted to
digital signals and then the desired signals are sepa-
rated from the noise.
q Push the [NR] switch to turn the noise reduction
ON.
- [NR] indicator lights.
w Rotate the [NR] control to adjust the noise reduc-
tion level.
e Push the [NR] switch to turn the noise reduction
OFF.
- [NR] indicator does not light.
Deep rotation of the [NR] control results in audio
signal masking or distortion. Set the [NR] control
for maximum readability. The noise reduction func-
tion is not available in AM and FM modes.

Noise blanker

The noise blanker eliminates pulse-type noise such
as from car ignitions. The noise blanker is not avail-
able for FM mode.
